Sheltering beneath the Aqueduct of Valens and set in a beautiful 17th-century medrese, this is one of the city's more unusual, not to say attractive and educational, museums. Where instructors once lectured students in Islamic theory, they now give sketching lessons and host workshops on engraving and screen-printing- The permanent collection, which includes pieces dating back to the 1870s, illustrates the long-standing popularity of caricature and satire in Turkey, and the recurrence of certain themes, particularly the insidious impact of the West. In 2003 only the permanent exhibition area was open to the public, but once some extensive redecoration is completed a temporary exhibition area is also due to come back on stream. There's also a humour library and an archive open to the public: ask at the box office to be let in.
Open 10am-6pm Tue-Sat. Admission Free
