Food&Drink
We would have never imagined that such a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view could be located in a narrow, hidden hill in Arnavutköy, of all places. It’s so unexpected that stumbling upon it by chance is impossible; thus, Lychee Restaurant & Bar’s customers so far have all heard about the place through word of mouth. As you’d expect from the name, Lychee features many exotic cocktails. The menu is split into two sections: World international cuisine and a kebap section. The international cuisine consists of pepper steak, Café de Paris, steak with a Roquefort sauce, seafood tomato sauce spaghetti. Starters include a Mesclun greens salad, Turkish meze etc, but what really impressed us were the ‘fried leek balls’ with either a salsa or soy sauce. As for the salads, we highly recommend the goat cheese salad. Fish lovers have not been forgotten; Lychee offers salmon, grouper fish and a sea bass in wine sauce. They also have an impressive weekend brunch featuring omelettes and pancakes on Saturdays and Sundays. The restaurant’s original corn and garlic bread also compliments the breakfast selections well. On Thursdays, Latin music fills the restaurant; Saturdays, a traditional Turkish ‘fasıl’ is organized. With its gorgeous Bosphorus view to the front, and view of Robert College’s green grove to the back, Lychee is definitely worth the trip- and now that you know where it is, you have no excuse.
