With their authentic pizzas and original music, Otto has been an important part of Istanbul food and drink as well as nightlife since opening in 2005. After opening Otto Santral and Otto in Cesme, Otto has opened another location in Asmalimescit. The decoration is like the others, industrial touches; however, its most noticeable detail is the bar that spans from the entrance all the way down to the back of the narrow venue. We thought the new location would solve the overcrowding problem at Otto; “hey, if there is no room at Otto, we’ll try the new location”, we said. However, as soon as it opened this new location was packed full and has been since. The main room seats 60, while there is another room in the back, perfect for private parties, that seats 20-30. The larger space isn’t the only difference from the other Otto; the menu is also a lot more expansive here. During the week happy hour occurs from 18.00-19.30; drinks are 10% off, and are served with complimentary mini pizzas. Yet another reason to be jealous of those who work in or around the Tunel area! Don’t miss the ‘cucumber saketini’ and ‘poppy vodka’ (made with poppy syrup) that are exclusive to this location- wonder if the poppy vodka will be the new hazelnut vodka?
