What used to be Café Keyif in Nişantaşı is now called Den Café. Located in the center of the district, Café Den has earned its right to be there, embodying Nişantaşı life appropriately. What exactly does this mean? Well, it’s the sort of place where you would go while on a break from shopping, during the day for a sit-down with friends, or after work. The front of the café, being made of large glass windows, helps to draw in a crowd since you can see how lively it is as you pass by on the street. The interior of the café has completely changed since its opening. Ayşe Teke put her magic to work on the place giving it a “wintery” garden feel. During the winter the garden sees the sun until 18.00 and during the summer until 19.00, so you can enjoy the café during both seasons. The menu includes dishes from all around the globe and we highly recommend that you have breakfast here at least once choosing from their vast array of cheeses, olives, three different kinds of jam, nutella, three different kinds of bread, multiple cereals, and pancakes; it is sure to be scrumptious. Other options on the menu which have become favorites are the onion rings, falafel, and shrimp fried patty. The open kitchen certainly gives the area a vivacious feel. Even if you choose to dine alone one night, watching the food preparation is entertainment enough. There are 2-3 person tables and two 7-8 people larger tables and a bar. The bar seats 18 people, which also makes Den double as a place to come and have fun with friends. The crowd at Den is not that of a younger age, the café usually draws in middle-aged customers; the type who would want to come in, either sit down and eat or have a drink at the bar and engage in conversation. The coffee selection is pretty good too, just try the ‘leo’ coffee and you’ll see what we mean.
