Dukkan is indisputably the best butcher in Istanbul and has been distributing to the best restaurant’s in Istanbul for the past 5 years. Dukkan added a steak house section to its shop in Armutlu first, and then followed up with a butcher/steak house in Nisantasi’s Beymen 4-5 months ago. It’s third step is the most highly anticipated- a burger shop in Bebek, where Abbas used to be. The stonewalls, vintage mirrors and refrigerator and raw wood tables make this restaurant trendy yet inviting. Inside, you’ll find a small open kitchen and two long tables- that’s it! Despite this fact, the smell of burgers cooking won’t stick to your clothes because of a super-duper impressive air filtering system in place. The menu is written on a chalkboard and consists of few items- hamburgers and cheeseburgers are made from 130gr of Dukkan beef, while the Dukkan burger is 200gr. The Dukkan burger differs in that the patty contains beef bacon as well. If you don’t specify, the burgers will be cooked medium. If you want yours well-done (the horror!), you’ll have to wait a bit, as these patties are fat and the middle will take a while to cook. The burgers are served without any sides, wrapped in paper. Yes, you got that right- no plate, fork, knife- nothing! The fries are not the thin, crispy ones you might be used to , but rather potato wedges and must be ordered separately; they come served in a paper cone. Despite this simplicity, everything is really prepared to per-fec-tion. The burgers aren’t particularly large, but since the patty is, you’ll get full without the need for anything else.
